Dear, Resident
Thank you for taking the local priority survey recently, we note that you highlighted Road safety issues (Speeding) in the survey so we wanted to provide you with an update on this local matter.
Did you know you could also assist in the education of drivers by joining our Community Speed-watch programme, full details can be found at www.kent.police.uk/csw - Swanley needs you!
Your local officer listened to concerns around speeding and yesterday PS 13002 EDWARDS and PC 15621 SHIPLEY from the neighbourhood policing team attended to RUSSETT WAY, GOLDSEL ROAD and LOWER ROAD. Out of all the vehicles checked, only 4 vehicles were stopped and given words of advice where the drivers were nearly creeping to what's unacceptable and those that were stopped all the necessary vehicle checks came back with no issues, all taxed, insured and suitable conditioned to be on the road. There are dates in the diary to complete speed checks again in the near future, so please drive safe, slow down and don't get distracted by people in the car, mobile phones and always look up ahead the road for men and women in ‘police’ yellow jackets carrying out speed checks … you just never no where we'll pop up next :-).
Is there a road within your community/local area that you would like to see officers conducting speed checks?
